Our Lady of Dolours Church, Dahanu, Maharashtra, India

Dahanu (Marathi: डहाणू) is a small, sleepy coastal city and a municipal council in Thane district in the western state of Maharashtra, India on the shores of Arabian Sea.

I spent the whole day yesterday (13/04/12) relaxing at resort on a Dahanu beach. These pictures of ‘Our Lady of Dolours Church’ (Our Lady of Sorrows) were taken on my way to the railway station when returning to Mumbai.

Grotto on the right hand side of the church. The sign below the Madonna reads ‘Namo Maria’ in Marathi meaning ‘Hail Mary’

  2. I was wondering, is there a church in Dahanu. It's very convenient for the people willing to spend the weekend there.
